Round up of incidents  – Day Shift Sunday 17th April

 Carr Lane, Sutton On Forest

Fire crews from Huntington, Easingwold, York and Acomb attended a fire involving 2 tankers which were parked in a commercial yard. The crews used main jets, hose reel jets and breathing apparatus. The tankers both sustained severe fire damage and the heat from the fire caused heat damage to the exterior of a commercial building.  The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.

 Ainthorpe Lane, Whitby

Fire crews from Danby attended reports of electrical cabling on fire at a domestic premises. Upon crews arrival they inspected the fire and ensured it was fully extinguished. Electricity board isolated the power and the incident was left with them. Fire believed to have been caused by short circuit.

 Central Drive, Northallerton

Fire crews from Northallerton attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a domestic property. When crews arrived, they were able to establish that the alarm had been activated by fumes from burnt cooking. Crews ensured the property was safe for the occupant. No further action was required.

 A162, Tadcaster

Fire crews from Tadcaster attended a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles. No persons were trapped at the incident however fire crews worked alongside paramedics and assisted with a casualty. Incident left with police and ambulance service.

 Piercy End, Kirkbymoorside.

Fire crews from Kirkbymoorside  attended a domestic property with an unsafe chimney stack which was affecting a public footpath. Crews discovered a chimney stack that was damaged due to birds nesting in it. Loose bricks were removed by crew and advice given. Occupant to contact builder to get remedial works carried out.

 Whitestone Drive, Huntington

Fire crews from Huntington attended reports of a car fire outside a domestic property. Upon crews arrival, they extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel. The fire was confined to the car door and is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

 Rudding Park Golf Club, Rudding Park, Harrogate

Fire crews from Harrogate attended a car fire in the golf complex car park.  Fire crews used 1 hose reel, breathing apparatus and thermal imaging camera. The fire is believed to have started in the electrics in the engine compartment.

 Eastborough, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended a seagull that was trapped in netting on third floor of property.  Fire crews used the aerial ladder platform to access and release the bird. Bird handed to care of RSPCA.
