Incident Summary – Day Shift Thursday 15th November

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Building fire – Selby Road, Whitley

Time of call: 0657 hours

Crews from Selby, Pontefract and Askern have dealt with a fire in a 2 storey derelict building measuring approx. 10m by 12m. The fire originated in a ground floor fireplace but then spread to the ground and fire floor causing severe fire, heat and smoke damage to the whole of the property. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hosereel, a main jet, 9m ladder, triple extension ladder, ceiling hooks and a thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 False alarm – Main Street, Fulford

Time of call: 1039 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to routine testing of the alarm system.

 False alarm – Broughton, Skipton

Time of call: 1414 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
