False alarm – Springhill Close, Scarborough Time of call: 0729 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust and insects in the detector.

False alarm – Swan Road, Harrogate Time of call: 1028 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust caused by workmen.

False alarm – Ramsay Close, York Time of call: 1100 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to the alarm being set off by workmen.

False alarm – Clifford Street, York Time of call: 1201 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to the alarm being set off by workmen.

False alarm – Wigginton Road, York Time of call: 1217 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation at an industrial property. This was a false alarm due to the accidental activation of a break glass point.

Kitchen fire – White Rose Avenue, New Earswick Time of call: 1218 hours

Two crews from Huntington have been called to reports of a fire in the kitchen of a domestic property. The incident involved a pan of food left on the hob in the kitchen. This has resulted in fire damage to the food item only and slight smoke logging to the kitchen. Smoke alarms were fitted and had activated. 1 female suffered slight smoke inhalation and fire fighters administered oxygen prior to the arrival of the ambulance service who gave a precautionary check up. The cause is a pan left unattended and crews used a positive pressure fan to ventilate the property.

Van fire – Earby Road, Carleton, Skipton Time of call: 1230 hours

Two crews from Skipton have been called to a VW camper van on fire on the back road between Carleton and Earby. The vehicle was 100% destroyed by fire. The cause is believed to be a mechanical fault and crews have used 2 hosereels and 2 breathing apparatus.

Rescue from vehicle – Haxby Road, York Time of call: 1300 hours

A crew from York has attended 2 young children accidentally locked in a Nissan Note. The crew gained entry via a quarter light and the boy and girl, both approx 2 years old, were reunited with their mother uninjured. The crew used small tools.

Assist with first aid – St Hildas Terrace, Whitby Time of call: 1515 hours

A crew from Whitby has administered first aid to a female who was feeling unwell. They administered oxygen until the arrival of the ambulance.

Rubbish fire – Bagdale, Whitby Time of call: 1548 hours

A crew from Whitby has dealt with a small rubbish fire in the open. The cause was deliberate and a hosereel was used to extinguish it.

False alarm – south of the A59 Kexgill Moor Time of call: 1607 hours

Crews from Harrogate and Skipton have been called to reports of a moor fire. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning by gamekeepers.
