Incident Summary – Day Shift Thursday 22nd June


Small fire – Nursery Lane East, Harrogate

Time of call: 0640 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to reports of a fire in woodland. This was a small camp fire which had been left unattended. The crew used wildfire backpacks to extinguish.


False alarm – Catterick Road, Catterick Garrison

Time of call: 1147 hours

A crew from Richmond has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to accidental activation of a break glass point.


 House fire – Reckondales Field, Stamford Bridge

Time of call: 1205 hours

Crews from Huntington and Pocklington have dealt with a fire in the kitchen of a domestic property. The fire involved gas leaking from a capped off pipe behind a cooker. The cooker had been moved which caused gas to leak and then ignite when the cooker was lit. The fire was out on our arrival and resulted in minimal damage to the surrounding area. Advice given to homeowner.


False alarm – Hollins Crescent, Harrogate

Time of call: 1219 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have been called to reports of a fire in the oven in the kitchen of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to the orange glow from the cookers internal light whilst in use.


Road traffic collision – Seamer Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1253 hours

A crew from Scarborough and a crew from Filey have been called to a Ford Fiesta which has collided with the filling caps on a petrol station forecourt, coming to rest on top of the fuel tanks. 1 male in the vehicle was uninjured. No action taken by fire crews. Vehicle to remain in situ until recovery crane can be arranged. Incident left with Police.


Road traffic collision – A61, South Stainley

Time of call: 1552 hours

Crews from Ripon and Harrogate have attended a road traffic collision involving a Land Rover Discovery which had collided with a tree. 2 occupants in the vehicle – 1 of which was trapped by their injuries. She has been released by fire crews and taken to hospital via air ambulance. Crews remained on scene to assist Police with scene safety.


False alarm – Railway Street, Slingsby

Time of call: 1655 hours

A crew from Malton has investigated reports of a hedge on fire. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning. Advice was given to the land owner.
