Incident Summary Day Shift Thursday 23rd November

23rd November 2017

Time 1044     Location: Leeming

Crews and a boat from Selby attended a report of a 50 sheep stranded on the riverside due to the river bursting its banks. Crews rescued 2 lambs and after a discussion with the farmer left the rest of the sheep as they were becoming distressed and the river levels were receding.

Time 1507      Location: Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate attended a report of a male stuck in a lift. Crews released the male using lift keys.

Time 1608   Location: Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough attended a report of a car on fire. The fire was extinguished using 1 hose reel and checked over with the thermal imaging camera. The car sustained 40% fire damage and 50% smoke damage. The cause of the fire is believed to have been an electrical fault.

Time 1614    Location: Selby

A crew from Selby attended a report of an elderly patient stuck in a hoist. Crews assisted carers with getting the patient from the hoist into a wheelchair.


In addition to the above incidents our crews attended automatic fire alarm activations in Scarborough and Thirsk.  These were false alarms.
