Incident Summary Day Shift Thursday 24th May 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.


We also attended a number of fire alarm activations during the shift which turned out to be a false alarms.


Large bag of ash on fire – Barlow, Selby

Time of call: 10:20

Appliances from Selby and Snaith attended this incident and extinguished a fire which involved a 1 tonne bag of ash, crews used 2 breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.


Boat Rescue – River Ouse, York

Time of call: 11:59

Appliances from York and Acomb attended this incident which was reported as a boat sinking in the river Ouse, crews attended and found that the boat was not sinking but was stuck on the river bank; we therefore assisted the boat with a push and sent the boat on its way.
