Incident Summary – Day Shift Thursday 29th March

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Rescue – Front Street, Sowerby

Time of call: 0945 hours

A crew from Thirsk has rescued a male from the bathroom of a domestic property after he became locked inside due to a faulty door mechanism. Crew used manpower to force the door.

 

False alarm – off Denison Avenue, Seamer

Time of call: 1018 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Roseworth , Great Broughton

Time of call; 1200 hours

A crew from Stokesley has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

House fire – Long Street, Thirsk

Time of call: 1337 hours

Crews from Thirsk, Northallerton, Ripon and Boroughbridge have dealt with a fire in the ground floor of a terraced domestic property. Extensive fire damage caused to ground and first floor. Male rescued from property by members of the public and taken to hospital with light smoke inhalation. Cause is believed to be accidental. Crew used 2 hose reels, 4 breathing apparatus, hand tools and thermal imaging camera. Fire investigation ongoing.

 

 

False alarm – Gale Lane, York

Time of call: 1648 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – Navigation Road, York

Time of call: 1648 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.
