Incident Summary – Day Shift Thursday 5th April

 

Fire – Standard Way, Northallerton

Time of call: 0613 hours

Crews from Northallerton and Bedale have been called to a small fire in an industrial unit involving the motor on an extraction unit. Slight fire damage caused to motor only. Cause believed to be an electrical fault. Crews used 1 hose reel, 3 main jets and a thermal imaging camera.

 

Road traffic collision – Howhill Quarry Road, Beckwithshaw

Time of call: 0634 hours

Crews from Harrogate have dealt with a road traffic collision involving a van which had overturned. 1 male was trapped in the vehicle. Released by crews using hydraulic cutting gear and stabilisation kit.

 

False alarm – Knotto Bottom Way, Northallerton

Time of call: 0933 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. Full external search carried out but no fire located. Believed to be a false alarm.

 

False alarm – Nunnington

Time of call: 1227 hours

A crew from Kirkbymoorside has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – The Chase, Knaresborough

Time of call: 1231 hours

A crew from Knaresborough has been called to reports of a house on fire. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning in the rear garden.

 

Kitchen fire – Dale Street, York

Time of call: 1300 hours

A crew from York has dealt with a fire in the kitchen of a residential property. Damage was restricted to food under the grill. The fire was out on our arrival and the crew ventilated the property. The cause is believed to be accidental.

 

Property fire – Lakebar Drive, High Bentham

Time of call: 1350 hours

A crew from Bentham has been called to a fire in an outhouse which was discovered by a delivery driver. Damage was caused to a craft item and the table on which it was laid. The out house suffered slight smoke damage. The cause is believed to be refracted light through a magnifying glass and crew used a bucket of water.

 

False alarm – Heslington Lane, York

Time of call: 1619 hours

A crew from York has responded to a reports of a car on fire. This was a false alarm due to fumes from oil spilling on to the hot manifold.

 

Animal rescue – Threshfield, Skipton

Time of call: 1635 hours

Grassington crew have been called to reports of a dog caught on a fence. ***INCIDENT ONGOING***

 

False alarm – Filey Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1651 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to aerosol spray.

 

False alarm – Kirk Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 1658 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
