Incident Summary Day Shift Tuesday 3rd July 2018

2nd July 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

We also attended a number of fire alarm activations during the shift which turned out to be false alarms.

Warlaby Time of call:09:55

A crew from Northallerton was called to signs of smoke in the open. This was a fire to two hay bales. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish this and ceiling hooks and forks to separate the bales and ensure the fire was out.

High Street , Starbeck, Haorrogate Time of call:15:04

We received numerous calls to a derelict building measuring approximately 20x20m on fire. We have a large number of appliances at this incident at this time.

Crews have two main jets and two ground monitors in use and the Aerial Ladder Platform is being used as a water tower.

This incident is currently on-going and crews are likely to be at the scene for some time.

We would ask people to avoid the area due to the road being closed.

Blenheim Avenue, Whitby Time of call:15:07

A crew from Whitby was called to a smoking man hole cover. Crews were unable to find a cause for this and informed the appropriate authorities.

Bedale Time of call:15:14
Crews from Northallerton and Bedale were called to a chip pan on fire. The crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish this.
