Incident Summary Day Shift Tuesday 4th December 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Alcuin Way, Heslington Time of call: 08:46

Crews from York and Acomb were called to a fire in a kitchen which was out on Fire Brigade arrival. This was a fire to a grill pan caused by an accumulation of fat. Crews provided inspection only.

North Marine Road, Scarborough Time of call: 09:05

One of our On Call Watch Managers came across a road traffic collision and requested the attendance of the Fire Service. The incident involved two vehicles with one male occupant trapped in vehicle by injury who was freed using cutting equipment and chocks and blocks. The male was taken to hospital via road ambulance. The occupants of the second vehicle where out on our arrival and were uninjured.

Princess Square, Scarborough Time of call: 16:03

A crew from Scarborough were called to a fire in the garden of a residential property. This was a false alarm and was controlled burning.

Main Street, Escrick Time of call: 16:09

A crew from York were called to a fire in a chimney. The crew required further assistance from the crews at Harrogate along with their aerial ladder platform. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and chiney kit and gave advice

 We also attended to a fire alarm activation in Harrogate This was a false alarm.
