Round up of incidents for Day Shift Wednesday 16th March

                 

Road traffic collision – Empress roundabout, Knaresborough Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 0752 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have been called to a road traffic collision in the town involving a large goods vehicle and a bus. The male driver of the LGV was out of the vehicle on our arrival and he had been given a precautionary check at the scene by paramedics. The male driver of the bus was trapped in the vehicle. Fire crews released him using small tools and he has been taken to hospital with ankle injuries.

Road traffic collision – Wilks Rigg, A171, Whitby

Time of call: 0922 hours

Crews from Danby and Whitby have been called to a road traffic collision involving a van and a large goods vehicle. 2 males were out of the LGV on our arrival and have been taken to hospital for precautionary check ups. 1 female was trapped in the van and fire crews released her using hydraulic cutting gear. She has been taken to hospital suffering injuries to her legs and back.  Crews have used hydraullic cutting gear, reciprocating saw, rams and small tools.

Chimney fire – Grass Wood Lane, Grassington

Time: 1026 hours

Crews from Grassington and Skipton have been called to a chimney fire in a residential property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot and they have used a hosereel, a 10.5 metre ladder, a roof ladder, safety harnesses, chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the fire. This incident to remain open for a revisit later this evening.

False alarm – Rutland Drive, Harrogate

Time of call: 1042 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to the accidental activation of a break glass point.

Road traffic collision – A61, Hutton Conyers

Time of call: 1429 hours

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge have been called to a road traffic collision involving a tractor and a 4x4 car. 1 male and 1 female trapped in the 4x4. They were released by crews and taken to hospital with non-serious injuries.

False alarm – Stony Lane, East Harlsey

Time of call: 1536 hours

A crew from Northallerton has investigated reports of a fire in the area. A full search was carried out but no incident was located.

False alarm – Runswick Avenue, Whitby

Time of call: 1632 hours

A crew from Whitby has investigated a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the alarm system.
