Incident Summary – Day Shift Wednesday 16th November

 

Small fire – Queens Road, Richmond

Time of call: 0902 hours

A crew from Richmond has dealt with a small fire in an illuminated traffic bollard. The cause was water ingress causing an electrical fault and they used a dry powder extinguisher.

 

Small fire – Gribdale Gate, Kildale

Time of call: 0928 hours

Crews from Coulby Newham and Northallerton have been called to approximately 50 sqm of undergrowth on fire. The cause was a camp fire left unattended and the crews have used, buckets of water, beaters and a wildfire backpack.

 

Kitchen fire – Borrowdale Drive, York

Time of call: 0940 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have been called to a faulty toaster on fire in the kitchen of a semi detached bungalow. This resulted in fire damage to the toast and slight smoke damage to the property. 1 elderly resident received a precautionary check up by paramedics at the scene. The fire was out on arrival and crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.

 

Road traffic collision – Princess Royal Way, Pannal

Time of call: 1156 hours

Crews from Harrogate have been called to a road traffic collision involving 3 cars and a bus. No persons were trapped, however, 3 occupants from various cars have been taken to hospital with potential spinal injuries and 3 occupants from the bus have received treatment on scene for minor injuries. The fire crew made the vehicles safe and swilled the roadway using hand tools and a hosereel.

 

False alarm – Baird Lane, Heslington

Time of call: 1548 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. The cause is unknown as the system was reset prior to our arrival.

 

False alarm – Kings Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1610 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust from workmen.
