Garage Fire – Ringbeck Road, Kirkby Malzeard

Time of call: 08:41

Garage on fire contained several motor vehicles; crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish.


Vehicle stuck in floodwater – Heslaker Lane, Carleton Skipton

Time of call: 11:29

Fire crews from Skipton attended a vehicle that had driven through floodwater and got stuck. Crews rescued 1 male from vehicle as water levels were too high for him exit the car himself. Highways closed the road as a result.


Automatic Fire Alarm – Curzon Terrace, York

Time of call: 11:37

This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.


Smell of smoke in Selby Library, Micklegate, Selby

Time of call: 11:42

Fire crews from Selby attended reports of a possible fire; however the smell of smoke was caused by a fault with a light fitting. Electrician attended and rectified this fault.


Road Traffic Collision – A64, Austwick

Time of call 14: 12

Fire crews from Settle and Bentham turned out to a single vehicle road traffic collision. Car was on its roof, however casualty was in the care of the Ambulance crews and Fire Service assistance was not required.


Road traffic accident – A1 North bound between Junc 47 and 48

Time of call 14:35

A fire and Rescue Service Officer came across a three vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped and no further assistance was required by the Fire Service.


Garage fire – Neville Drive, York

Time of call: 15:47

Fire crews from Acomb and York attended a fire in a domestic garage. Fire caused by tumble dryer. Crew extinguished fire using breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imagining camera.


Bin fire – outside NatWest, Selby

Time of call: 16:01

Selby Fire crews extinguished a bin fire using a hose reel. 


Fire in property – Commercial Street, Malton

Tine of call 16:05

Fire crews from Malton attended a fire in a domestic bedroom. Fire was caused due to an electrical fault. 1 elderly male was rescued from property by his carers prior to arrival of Fire Service. Fire had been extinguished prior to arrival of Fire Service
