Incident Summary Day Shift Wednesday 4th July 2018

3rd July 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

We also attended a number of fire alarm activations during the shift which turned out to be a false alarms.

Low Bradley, Keighley

Time of call:09:37

A crew from Skipton were called to a small fire in the open. This was two smouldering bonfires. Crews used a hose to extinguish this and dug a fire ditch around these sites.

Thief Lane, York  

Time of call: 11:33

A crew from York were called to a smell of burning coming from the street outside a residential property. The cause of this was unknown as it was underground. Other agencies were called to the scene to establish what the cause was. This was caused by an overheated underground electrical cable. No Fire Service assistance was required.

Thornton in Craven

Time of call:13:52

A crew from Skipton were called to a fire in the open. This was a fire to a hedge caused by spontaneous combustion and this was extinguished using two hose reel jets.

Boroughbridge Station

Time:13:56

A crew at Boroughbridge station assisted a female with a ring stuck on her finger. The crews used a ring cutter to remove this.

River Lane, High Kilburn

Time of call: 14:28

Crews were called to a large fire to approximately 50metres x 3metres of standing crop and woodland. We have a number of crews currently in attendance at this incident and it is still ongoing.

Thirsk

Time of call:14:52

A crew from Northallerton were called to assist the ambulance service with a patient. The crews assisted with gaining entry to a property and taking the patient to the ambulance.

Felixkirk

Time of call:15:29

Crews from Northallerton were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out on Fire Service arrival and crews assisted police with making area safe.

Skipton Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 15:53

A crew from Harrogate were called to a fire in the open. This was extinguished on crews arrival.
