False alarm – Woodlands Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 0732 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a member of staff activating a break glass point after smelling fumes from a overheated computer.

False alarm – Baxtergate, Whitby

Time of call: 0909 hours

Crews from Whitby, Lythe and Robin Hoods Bay have investigated a smell of smoke in a commercial building. This was a false alarm due to acrid fumes from an overheated light fitting.

False alarm – Newby Wiske

Time of call: 1122 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Princess Road, Malton

Time of call: 1138 hours

A crew from Malton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust from workmen.

False alarm – Wycar, Bedale

Time of call: 1147 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Crews from Huntington and Tadcaster have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

Kitchen fire - Bargate, Richmond

Time of call: 1643 hours

A crew from Richmond has dealt with a grill pan fire in the kitchen of a private terraced property. Resulted in fire damage to grill and smoke damage to kitchen. Occupier used foam extinguisher prior to our arrival. Crew isolated power supply and removed oven to open. Positive pressure ventilation fan used to clear smoke from property. The cause is accidental.

Malicious call – Dragon Parade, Harrogate

Time of call: 1658 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have responded to a call reporting a kitchen fire in a residential property. On arriving at the address and discovering no fire, it was established this was a malicious call.
