A crew from Ripon attended a commercial property and released a person from a lift

12:40  Linton On Ouse, York

Fire crews from York, Huntington and Easingwold attended a house fire. The fire had started in the spare bedroom of the property in a removal box and caused 100% fire damage to the contents of the box and 5 % fire damage to the room. Smoke alarms were fitted in the property and raised the alarm to the occupiers of the household. The fire is believed to have been from an electrical fault in a battery powered child’s toy/appliance. The fire was extinguished and the property ventilated by fire crews.

Fire crews are still on scene at a chimney fire at a residential property.

Throughout the day we have also received and attended several false alarm activations.
