Round up of incidents – Night Shift 27th May

Harlow Moor Drive, Harrogate

Fire crews from Harrogate attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property. When crews arrived they were able to investigate the alarm and confirmed there was no fire at the property. The alarm was caused by fumes from an aerosol being sprayed.

Chestnut Croft, Hemingbrough

Fire crews from Selby and an officer attended reports of a residential property on fire. When crews arrived at scene they confirmed there to be a fire in a detached bungalow. Fire crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras and positive pressure ventilation fans to deal with the incident. The cause is under investigation.

Broadway, Colburn, Catterick Garrison

Fire crews from Colburn attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premise. When crews arrived they investigated the cause of the alarm and confirmed there was no sign of fire at the property. The alarm had been activated in error, advice given to occupants.

Upgang Lane, Whitby

Fire crews from Whitby attended residential premises where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. Crews investigated the premises and confirmed there was no fire. It was confirmed that the alarm had been activated in error, advice given to occupants.

Aske Nr Richmond

Fire crews fro Richmond attended commercial premises where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. When crews arrived, they carried out a full inspection of the property. They were able to confirm that insects in the detector head had caused the alarm to activate. Advice given to premises

Brailsford Crescent, York

Fire crews from Acomb attended reports of a tumble dryer fire in Brailsford Cres.

When crews arrived they were able to confirm that the occupants had removed the appliance to the open air and that the fire was believed extingished.  Crews ensured the fire was fully extinguished and gave advice to the occupants.
