Incident Summary Day Shift Friday 1st December 2017

 

Time: 0740 hrs  - A59, Bolton Abbey

Crews from Skipton attended report of a lorry on fire.  This resulted in a false alarm due to steam from burst water hose on vehicle mistaken for fire.

Time:  1000 hrs  -  Church Lane, Settrington

Crews from Malton assisted a male who had got his foot trapped under the wheel of a van when trying to stop the vehicle sliding down a hill in snow.  The casualty had been released prior to Fire Service arrival.  Crews assisted with first aid until arrival of ambulance.

Time 1153 hrs - Bishopfields Drive, York

Crews from Acomb and York attended a small fire in kitchen.  Small amount of scorching to kitchen ceiling.

Time: 1551 hrs - Village Street, Reeth

Crews from Reeth attended a chimney fire.  Extinguished using hearth kit and small gear.

Time: 1607 hrs - Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough- Amended (cause of incident removed as an investigation will be undertaken to determine what happened)

Crews from Scarborough attended a bus which started to roll towards the sea. The driver managed to jump back on it to stop it entering the sea.  No action by Fire Service.

 

In addition crews from Richmond, York and Harrogate attended automatic fire alarms which all resulted in false alarms.
