Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 1st July

The Mount, Malton

Fire crew from Malton and Pickering responded to reports of a fire at a domestic property in Malton. When crews arrived they discovered a fire in the oven at the property which was out on arrival. Crews ensured the fire was fully extinguished and ventilated the property. The fire was due to cooking being left unattended. Advice was given to the occupants.

Near Burniston Nurseries, Burniston, Nr Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended reports of an agricultural building on fire in Burniston. When crews arrived they confirmed the building was well alight and that it contained a JCB. Fire crews were able to remove the JCB from the building and used breathing apparatus and hose reels to fight the fire.

A59, Nr Moorlands Farm, Nr Fewston.

Fire crews from Harrogate and an officer attended reports of a road traffic collision.

When crews arrived they confirmed there to be 2 cars involved and no persons trapped at the incident.  Crews worked alongside paramedics assisting with casualty care and making vehicles safe.

Nr Lund Bridge, Nr Easingwold

Fire crews from Easingwold, Acomb and York attended reports of a female that had slipped into a slurry pit. Fire crews worked alongside paramedics to rescue the female. She was left in care of paramedics.

Scalby Road, Scarborough

Fire crews attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a commercial property on Scalby Road. When crews arrived they were able to confirm there was no fire. The alarm had activated due to a fault on the system, crews gave advice. No further action required.

Kings Road, Harrogate

Fire crews were called to a large commercial property on Kings Road where the fire alarm was sounding. Crews investigated the activation and were able to confirm there was no fire. The alarm had activated due to a system fault, engineers to attend the site.

Eason View, York

Fire crews responded to reports of a wheelie bin on fire. The fire was extinguished by crews using 1 hose reel. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
