Incident Summary - Night Shift 31st march

Round up of incidents for – Night Shift Thursday 31st March  2016

 Residential Caravan Site, Carlton, Selby

Fire crews from Selby attended a residential caravan site at Carlton following reports of a caravan on fire. When crews arrived they were able to confirm the burning was a controlled rubbish fire. Crews gave advice to the land owner and extinguished the fire at his request. No further action required.

 Southolme Drive, York

Crew from Acomb called to reports of a fire in a garden. On arrival, crews found this to be controlled burning under supervision of the property owner. Advice given, no further action taken.


Farndale Ave Romanby Northallerton

 Fire crews from Northallerton were called to a car fire at around 2100. Upon crews arrival, they confirmed the vehicle was not on fire but did have a engine pipe leaking which caused steam to form. Crews ensured the vehicle was safe and assisted the motorist


Scarborough Road, Rillington.  

 Fire crews from Malton were called to sightings of a fire near a domestic dwelling. Crews were able to confirm the incident was controlled burning under supervision. Advice given by fire crew but no further action required.


Near Crown Garden Centre, Selby Road, Whitley

 Fire crews from Selby along with a crew from South Yorks Fire Service were called to attend a single vehicle road traffic collision near the garden centre.  Upon arrival crews were able to confirm that there were no persons trapped at the incident. The vehicle was powered by LPG and was believed to be leaking due to the impact. Safety cordons were put in place and the vehicle was monitored by crews and allowed to vent off safely. . Incident was then left in the hands of the police.    


Broadway, Colburn

 Fire crews from Colburn attended a domestic property on Broadway where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. When crews arrived at the property they were able to confirm there to be no fire at the property. The fire alarm was sounding due to a fault on the system. Advice was given to the residents.


North Marine Road, Scarborough

 Fire crews from Scarborough and Filey attended a premises that reported a smell of burning in the property. Fire crews carried out a thorough search of the premises using both a thermal imaging camera and manpower. Crews were not able to locate either a smell of  smoke or signs of smoke.. No further action required, advice given to occupants.


Off Lodge Road, Lythe

 Fire crews from Lythe attended a domestic premises where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. Crews were able to establish the incident to be a false alarm, believed due to a fault on the premises fire alarm system. Advice given to the occupants.
