Round up of incidents – Night Shift Tuesday 3rd May

 Oxen Lane, Cliffe, Selby

Fire crews from Selby attended reports of a car fire on Oxen Lane. When crews arrived the vehicle was well alight. Crews used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. The vehicle is believed to be stolen. Incident was left in hands of police.

 A64 Eastbound Bilbrough – Copmanthorpe

Fire crews from Tadcaster and York attended a road traffic collision involving 2 cars. No persons were trapped at the incident. Fire crews made vehicles and carriageway safe. Two males from incident were taken by road ambulance to hospital for precautionary check ups. Incident left with police.

 Eversley Avenue, Sherburn In Elmet

Fire crews from Tadcaster and Selby attended reports of a fire in a domestic property. Upon crews arrival they confirmed there was a fire in the loft space which had spread to the roof. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reels, thermal imaging cameras and small tools. The fire caused 50% damage to the roof and 100% fire damage to the contents of the loft. One male was treated for smoke inhalation. The fire is believed to have started due to a dropped light.

 Dunslow Road, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough  attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. When crews arrived they inspected the premise and confirmed the alarm was sounding due to a system fault

 Richmondshire Walk, Catterick Garrison

Fire crews from Colburn attended a bin fire in the open. Members of the public had put some water on the fire and extinguished it prior to the arrival of the crew. Crews inspected the bin and ensured it was safe & fully extinguished on their arrival. 

 Middleton Road, York

Fire crews from Acomb attended reports of a fire in the open. When crews arrived they confirmed the fire to be controlled burning in the open with occupants in attendance. Crews gave advice, no further action required.

 Stockwell Drive, Knaresborough

Fire crews from Knaresborough attended reports a smoke alarm sounding at a domestic property. When crews arrived they found the alarm had sounded due to cooking fumes. Crews ventillated the property and gave advice.

 Foreshore Road, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended a commercial premises where the fire alarm was sounding. Crews investigated the property and discovered there was a fault on the alarm system. Advice given.

 Carlton Terrace, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended reports of smoke in a domestic property. When crews arrived they were able to establish a fire extinguisher had been set off .

The particles in the atmosphere given off from the extinguisher were mistaken for smoke. Advice given to occupants.

 Wreyfield Drive, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough attended reports of a smoke alarm sounding at a domestic premises. When crews arrived they were able to establish the alarm was sounding due to cooking fumes. Advice was given.

West Bank, Carlton, Nr Selby

Fire crews from Selby attended a domestic smoke alarm sounding. Fire crews confirmed the alarm was sounding due to a fault.  Crews fit new smoke alarms for the occupant and advice given.

 Hansom Place, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a domestic premises. When crews arrived they confirmed the incident to be a false alarm due to a fault on the alarm system. Advice given
