Incident Summary Monday 15th January Day Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Monday 15th January Day Shift

James Street, York  Time 09:22

Our York crew came across smoke rising from the ground. After investigation it appeared to be coming from electric cables under ground. We requested the electricity board to attend whilst the York crew cordoned off the area for safety. Once the engineer from the electric board arrived the crews left the incident with them.

St John’s Park, Aldbrough St John  Time 15:39

A wheelie bin caught fire outside a property but the fire spread to the garage of the property and a neighbours house was affected too. Our Richmond crew attended the property but the fire was out when they arrived as the occupiers had managed to extinguish the fire using a dry powder extinguisher. The crews investigated the area using thermal image cameras and damped down the garage and bin with a hose reel jet.

In addition to the above incidents our Fire crews attended automatic fire alarm calls. All were confirmed as false alarms.
