Please see below a round up of incidents from Monday 27th November Day Shift

Westbourne Road, Scarborough  Time 09:52

A crew from Scarborough attended a fire alarm sounding on Westbourne Road. This was confirmed as a false alarm due to fumes from an external source.

Ascot Way, York  Time 10:26

A crew from Acomb attended a fire alarm sounding on Ascot Way. This was confirmed as a false alarm due to cooking fumes affecting the detector.

Hospital Road, Malton  Time 10:35

A crew from Malton attended a fire alarm sounding on Hospital Road. This was confirmed as a false alarm due to construction working on site affecting the detector.  

Derby Close, Catterick Garrison  Time 10:43

A crew from Richmond attended a fire alarm sounding at Derby Close. This was confirmed as a false alarm due to accidental activation of the break glass point.  

Hamilton Drive, York  Time 11:07

A crew from Acomb attended a fire alarm sounding at Hamilton Drive. This was confirmed as a false alarm due to cooking fumes affecting the detector.  

Camblesforth, Selby  Time 11:43

A crew from Acomb attended a fire alarm sounding at Camblesforth. This was confirmed as a false alarm due to cooking fumes affecting the detector.  

B1223, Ulleskelf  Time 11:55

Some hay bales were seen on fire in a field near Ulleskelf. Our Tadcaster crew attended and found a farmer on site. The smoke from the fire was blowing over a nearby train line so the crews requested the farmer extinguish it. The crews gave safety advice while the farmer extinguished the fire using farm equipment.

A64, Whitwell on the Hill  Time 15:00

A two vehicle road traffic collision involving a van and tanker on the A64. The driver of the tanker was unharmed and the contents of the tanker was unaffected. The van driver, male, was unable to get out of the van initially and Ambulance crews awaited the arrival of the Fire crews. Crews from Malton, York, Scarborough and Huntington attended. They assisted the paramedics in helping the driver out of the van. He was then taken to hospital for precautionary checks only. Crews then assisted Police in clearing the road and making the scene safe for the public.

 Foss Bank, York  Time 15:18

A fire was seen by a bus stop by several members of the public. Our Acomb crew attended and discovered a bin on fire. They extinguished the fire with a bucket of fire and made the area safe before leaving.
