Incident Summary – Day Shift Thursday 18th July

A1041 Camblesforth 07:47

Fire crews from Selby, Snaith and Tadcaster attended reports of a road traffic collision involving 2 cars, a van and a heavy goods vehicle.  Crews confirmed there was a male trapped. Fire crews worked alongside paramedics and used hydraulic cutting gear. He was transported to hospital by road ambulance. Crews made scene safe.

Livingstone Road, Scarborough 10:28

Fire crews from Scarborough attended domestic premises down Livingstone Road. Upon arrival the crews discovered a bay window on fire. The crews extinguished the fire using hose reels and breathing apparatus. Once the fire was extinguished and the property ventilated, the crews checked the property with a thermal imaging camera. The fire is believed to have started due to workmen using a blow torch.

Rear. Westfields, Scorton 10:42

Fire crews from Richmond attended reports of an electricity pylon that had burst into flames. The fire was out on arrival and crews stood by whilst electricity engineers attended. Electricity engineers isolated power and were able to inspect the pylon. No further action required by fire crews.

Reas Lane, Marton Cum Grafton, Nr Boroughbridge 11:27

Fire crews from Boroughbridge and Knaresborough attended reports of a house fire. When crews arrived they confirmed the property to be well alight. Fire crews used  6 breathing apparatus and 3 hose reel jets to firefight. Two fire officers also attended the fire. The cause is to be determined, fire investigation taking place at scene.

Queens Road, Harrogate 11:59

Fire crews from Harrogate attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a health care premises. Upon crews arrival they were able to establish there to be no fire.

Further investigation confirmed the alarm had been activated due to staff testing the alarm. Advice given to premises.

Daleside Road, Rosedale Abbey 13:19

Fire crews from Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, Danby and Malton have been firefighting at a farm premises near Rosedale Abbey. The fire involved a tractor and barn. Fire crews used hose reels and breathing apparatus, crews established a water relay to enable them to firefight. The incident is still currently on-going.

Malton Road, Hunmanby 14:39

Fire crews from Scarborough, Filey and Tadcaster were mobilised to reports of a male that had fallen into a corn dryer. Crews worked alongside paramedics to release male and transport him to a road ambulance. Specialist rescue equipment used to rescue the male. He was transported to hospital by air ambulance.

Dundas Street, York 15:13

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire alarm sounding . When crews arrived at a commercial premises they were able to confirm there was no fire. Fire crews investigated and a system fault was detected. Advice given and engineers to attend.
