Incident Summary - Night Shift Tuesday 24th July

24th July 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Harrogate – Time of call 17:31

 Crews from Harrogate responded to grass fire, Knapsack sprayer and small tools used.

 Broxa – Time of call 17:53

 Scarborough crews attended a grass fire of approximately 1 square metre. Crews used 1 hose reel jet.

 Harrogate – Time of call 18:09

 Knaresborough crews responded to a person stuck in a lift, crews released using lift keys

 York – Time of call 18:10

 Huntington Crews responded to a tree trunk on fire, extinguished using 1 hose reel jet and small tools.

 Harrogate – Time of call 18:38

 Crews from Harrogate attended a small fire in the woods consisting of timber and undergrowth, extinguished using knapsack sprayer and small tools.

 Scarborough – Time of call 18:44

 Crews from Robin Hoods Bay responded to a fire in the open, this turned out to be controlled burning.

 Thirsk – Time of call 18:56

 Thirsk crews attended a stubble field fire including bales of straw of approximately 50 by 25 metres. 2 hose reel jets and pitchforks used.

 Skipton – Time of call 19:53

 Skipton crews responded to a fire in the open, this turned out to be controlled burning.

 York – Time of call 21:47

 York Crews responded to a fire in the open, extinguished using knapsack sprayer.

 Hessay – Time of call 22:18

 Crews from Acomb responded to a fire seen in the open, this turned out to be controlled burning.

 Scarborough – Time of call 22:36

 Scarborough crews responded to a fire seen in the open, this turned out to be a barbeque.

 Harrogate – Time of call 23:23

 Harrogate crews responded to a bonfire in a garden, no action from Fire Service.

 Helmsley – Time of call 00:23

 Helmsley crews responded out of control bonfire. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.

 York – Time of call 00:25

 York crews responded to an alarm activation, this was a false alarm.

 Thirsk – Time of call 00:27

 Crews from Thirsk responded to an automatic alarm activation, this was a false alarm.

 Stutton – Time of call 00:36

 Crews from Tadcaster and Killingbeck responded to 2 square metres of hay on fire inside a barn. 1 hose reel jet and lighting used.

 York – Time of call 02:14

 Crews from Acomb attended an automatic alarm activation. The cause was an unknown fault.

 Kirkbymoorside – Time of call 0257 hours

 The crew from Kirkbymoorside responded to an alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault.

 Harrogate – Time of call 0334 hours

 A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property on Otley Road. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 Grassington – Time of call 0411 hours

 A crew from Grassington has been called to a tractor on fire in the open. The tractor was totally destroyed by fire. Crew used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 jet and light portable pump. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.
