Incident Summary - Night Shift 10th April

10th April 2016

Vehicle Fire – A1 Southbound carriageway near Boroughbridge

Time of call: 20:31

Appliances from Boroughbridge, Knaresborough and Harrogate were mobilised to reports of a vehicle on fire just south of the Boroughbridge turn off.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. 

Smell of smoke in property – West Cliff Grove, Harrogate

Time of call: 21:42

Appliances from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge were mobilised to reports of a strange smell of smoke in the property.  Crews attended and confirmed this was a false alarm and was due to smoke from a controlled bonfire outside getting inside the property. 

Road traffic collisions – Cordike Lane, Langton

Time of call: 22:57

Two appliances from Malton attended a road traffic collision involving one vehicle.  Crews used hydraulic cutting gear, small tools, stabilising equipment and sharps protection and successfully extricated a young male who was suffering from back pain.
