Incident Summary – Night Shift Sunday 12th June

Flooding in Properties – Dishforth Village

Time of Call:  17:25 hrs

Crews from Boroughbridge attended three properties in Dishforth Village which had been flooded due to flash floods following heavy rain showers.   Crews used a light portable pump, and hose reels to pump the water out.

Flooding – Silver Street, Masham

Time of Call:  17:51 hrs

Crew from Ripon attended a property which was under threat of flooding.  On arrival the water had subsided so no action was needed.

AFA – Monks Cross Drive, Huntington

Time of Call:  17:53 hrs

Crew from Huntington attended an automatic fire alarm which turned out to be false alarm.

 Flooding – Harrogate Road, Ripon

Time of Call:  17:55 hrs  

A Fire Officer attended reports of flooding in the area.  No action was taken as the water started to subside.

 Car stuck in flood water – Car Park, St Marygate, Ripon

Time of Call:  18:03 hrs

Crews from Ripon attended reports of a car stuck in flood water.  Fire crews unblocked the drains in the car park and the flooding subsided. 

Small fire in property - Huntington Road, York

Time of Call:  18:25 hrs

Crews from York attended small fire involving a plug.  Small gear and thermal image camera used.

Small fire in the open – Sleegill, Richmond

Time of Call: 

Crews from Richmond attended a small fire in the open. This was extinguished using a bucket of water.

AFA – Grosvenor Terrace, York

Time of Call: 21:30 hrs

Crews from Acomb attended an automatic fire alarm which turned out to be a false alarm

Fire in the open – Bilton Hall Drive, Harrogate

Time of Call: 21:57 hrs

Crews from Harrogate attended a mattress and grass verge on fire.  1 hose reel used to extinguish the fire.

AFA – Albemarle Crescent, Scarbrough

Time of Call:  23:24 hrs

Crews from Scarborough attended report of an alarm sounding.  On arrival, no alarm sounding.

Fire in Building – Cornwall Road, Harrogate

Time of Call:  23:44 hrs

Crews from Harrogate attended fire in a derelict building.  On arrival they requested assistance from two further fire appliances, one from Knaresborough and Boroughbridge, together with the Aerial Ladder Platform from Harrogate.  Further assistance was required from another two appliances from Ripon and Summerbridge and then a total of ten appliances and two aerial ladder platforms were needed in total. Further appliances that attended were from Northallerton, Huntington, Tadcaster, Acomb and two appliances from West Yorkshire. 

07:00 hrs (13/6)  Incident has now been scaled down to two appliances from Harrogate and the aerial ladder platform.

09:30 (13/6) Crews are still damping down at the scene. Investigations in to the cause of the fire have not yet started, but will take place later today.
