Incident Summary Night Shift 13th June

14th June 2016

Flawith Road, Tholthorpe

Fire crews from Easingwold attended initial reports of smoke sighted in the open. On arrival the crews confirmed this was approx. 20 metres x 20 metres of straw and used oil drums being burnt by a farmer however fire was out of control and Easingwold crews requested a further appliance to provide a water relay. Time of call was 20:48. The second Appliance responded from Thirsk. Crews put fire out using 2 main jets and the farmer used equipment to turn over the hot spots allowing them to cool. 

East Lane, Shipton by Benningbrough

Fire crews from Acomb attended to flooding inside a Nursing home affecting their electrics. The cellar of Nursing home had sustained flooding due to spate rainfall; crew’s pumped water out of cellar. Time of call was 21:21

A1 North Bound Slip Road Leeming Bar

Fire crews from Bedale assisted Police with a HGV that had overturned. No people were trapped, crews dealt with the fuel leaking from the vehicle.

Automatic Fire Alarms

In addition crews from various Stations attended several Automatic Fire Alarms, which on inspection were all false alarms and not caused by fire.
