16th September 2016

Barlby Road, Selby

Time of call: 1820

Selby crew attended an automatic fire alarm and found that it was a false alarm due to a fault on the suppression system.

 

Sharow Lane, Ripon

Time of call: 1910

Ripon crew responded to a call for assistance from a carer who was unable to help her elderly client to bed due to a faulty stair lift. Crew lifted female to first floor pending arrival of engineer to repair the stair lift tomorrow.

 

School track, Carlton-in-Cleveland

Time of call: 1937

A crew from Stokesley attended an automatic fire alarm and found that it was a false alarm due to an unknown reason.

 

St Peters Grove, York

Time of call: 2011

York crew responded to a call reporting a bonfire with accelerants being used. They found that this was a false alarm as the owner was in attendance, supervising the burning with a hosepipe. Advice given.

 

Sim Balk Lane, York

Time of call: 2031

A crew from York attended an automatic fire alarm and found that it was a false alarm due to insects in the detector head.

 

High Street, Stokesley

Time of call: 2044

A crew from Stokesley responded to a report from the Police that there had been an engine burst on one of the fair rides on the high street. This had caused hydraulic fluid to spill. The crew used drizzit pads and damming mats to absorb as much spillage as possible and try to prevent any fluid entering the water course. The incident was left with the police and the Environment Agency were informed.

 

Weeland Road, Eggborough

Time of call: 2146

Crews from Selby together with a West Yorkshire crew from Pontefract were mobilised to a RTC involving 1 vehicle with persons trapped. Ponterfract crew arrived first and found that there were no persons trapped and that our services were not required.

 

Swan Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 2356

A crew from Harrogate attended an automatic fire alarm. They found that this was a false alarm due to cigarette smoke.

 

Keighley Road, Skipton

Time of call: 0017

Skipton crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 

Queens Road, Richmond

Time of call: 0152

Richmond crews attended an automatic fire alarm activation. Crews were unable to gain access due to the lack of a keyholder but carried out a full external inspection of the premises and found no sign of smoke or fire. This was deduced to be a false alarm due to an unknown reason.

 

Station Road, Thirsk

Time of call: 0541

Thirsk crew attended an automatic fire alarm and found that the activation was a false alarm due to a fault in multiple zones.
