Round up of incidents for – Night Shift Friday 19th Feb

19.34   Nr Halfpenny House, Halfpenny House Road, Barden, Nr Leyburn.

Fire crews from Leyburn and Colburn attended a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles. One male was trapped in one of the vehicles. Fire crews worked alongside paramedics to release the male. He was then left in care of paramedics. Fire crews used hydraulic cutting gear

20.08 Tippetts Lane, Thorpe Underwood

Fire crews from Boroughbridge attended a dwelling at Thorpe Underwood where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. The crews were able to investigate and discovered the alarm was sounding due to fumes from a candle. The crew ensured the property was safe and gave occupants advice of the burning of candles. No further action was required.

21.05  Belmont Road, Harrogate

Fire crews attended a dwelling in Belmont Road where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. Fire crews were able to establish the alarm had activated due to fumes from cooking. Crews ensured the premises was safe for the occupants and gave advice.

21.05 Kirby Lane, Yedingham Nr Malton

 Fire crews from Sherburn and  Malton attended a bedroom fire in a domestic dwelling.

When crews arrived they discovered the fire had been extinguished. Crews checked the property with a thermal imaging camera to ensure there was no further fire risk. The occupants of the property had used buckets of water on the fire prior to fire crews arrival.

The incident caused fire and smoke damage to the bedroom but no further damage to the property. The cause was believed to be overloading of electricity sockets.

 21.56  Skipton Road, Low Bradley

Two fire crews from Skipton attended a domestic garage fire at Low Bradley. Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and one small jet. No persons were involved in the fire.

22.26 Low Moor Lane, Scotton, Knareborough

Crew from Knaresborough called to a rubbish fire in the open. Crew extinguished the fire using one hose reel. Cause of the fire is due to controlled burning, left unattended.
