Fire in open – Reighton Sands, Filey

Time of call: 1811

A crew from Filey attended reports of a fire in the open near an electricity pole. Crews extinguished using one hose reel.

Fire in open – Moor Lane, Naburn

Time of call: 1926

York crew were called to a bale of hay on fire in a field. They extinguished this using 1 hose reel jet and 2 pitch forks. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

False Alarm – High Street, Sutton-in-Craven

Time of call: 2046

A crew from Skipton attended an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

False Alarm – Keighly Road, Skipton

Time of call: 2147

Skipton crew attended an automatic fire alarm at a commercial premises. They found this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

False Alarm – Hazel Hill, East Ayton, Scarborough

Time of call: 2219

A crew from Scarborough attended reports of a fire in a car park. They found that this was a false alarm and was actually controlled burning.

A crew from Acomb  attended reports of a fire in the open. They found that this was a false alarm and was actually controlled burning under supervision.

Car Fire – Front Street, Sowerby

Thirsk crew responded to a call reporting a car on fire. They found that there was a 4x4 which had been on fire but had been extinguished by Police using fire exinguishers and a garden hose. Crews used a hose reel jet to dampen down and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. The cause is believed to be either deliberate or an engine fault.

A Scarborough crew responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to a misoperation of a manual call point.

A crew from Huntington responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Fire in Open – Barfield Road, York

Time of call: 0359

A York crew responded to reports of a fire in the open. They found that there was a small fire in the open and extinguished using a bucket of water. The cause is believed to be deliberate due to youths setting fire in the area. Police also attended.

False Alarm – York Road, Stillington

Time of call: 0508

A crew from Easingwold attended a commercial property on York Road due o an auomatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm cause: unknown.
