Incident Summary Night Shift 24th July

24th July 2016

Rescue – Naburn Lane, Naburn, York

Time of call: 1801

A crew from York attended an incident whereby a female had (suspected) broken her ankle on a pontoon. They assisted ambulance crew to move her to the ambulance.

False Alarm – Wharfedale Crescent, Harrogate

Time of call: 1808

Crews from Harrogate attended a residential property following reports of a smell of smoke. They found that this was a false alarm due to smoke from a small fire outdoors from an adjacent property.

Fire in Open – Fairfax Avenue, Harrogate

Time of call: 1914

A crew from Harrogate responded to reports of a fence and trees on fire to the rear of a residential property. Hey found that there was a fire to approx. 4 metres of fence and some hedge cuttings. They extinguished using 1 hose reel. The cause is believed deliberate.

Assist Other Agency – Upper Sackville Street, Skipton

Time of call: 1948             

Crews from Skipton attended a property to assist ambulance crew with access to a female casualty aged approx. 15 years old who was unconscious on the wrong side of metal railings on a railway embankment. Crews used a grinder and manpower and left female in hands of paramedics.

Fire in Open – Ellingstring Village Street, Ellingstring

Time of call: 2040

Crews from Masham and Lofthouse attended a property following reports of a fire in the open. They found that this was controlled burning out of control and extinguished using 1 hose reel.

False Alarm – University Road, Heslington

Time of call: 2140

York crews attended an automatic fire alarm activation at a residential property and found that it was a false alarm due to dust in the detector head.

False Alarm – Westborough, Scarborough

Time of call: 2145

A crew from Scarborough attended a property following an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

False Alarm – North Marine Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2150

Scarborough crews responded to an automatic fire alarm activation at a residential property in Scarborough. They found that this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False Alarm – John Street, Filey

Time of call: 2156

Filey crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation and found that it was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

False Alarm – Kingsway North, York

Time of call: 2352

Crews from Acomb responded to reports of a fire in the open. They found that this was a false alarm and was actually controlled burning under supervision.

False Alarm – Coxwold Village Street, Coxwold

Time of call: 0237

Easingwold crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to insects in detector head.

False Alarm – Havers Hill, Eastfield, Scarborough

Time of call: 0338

A Scarborough crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation at a commercial property. They found that this was a false alarm as, following a full external inspection there was no sign of smoke or fire. Crews waited on scene for 20 minutes however were unable to gain entry to the building due to the lack of a keyholder.

RTC Scene Safety – Bar Lane, Rowecliffe

Time of call: 0615

A Boroughbridge crew responded to a report of a RTC involving a LGV into a tree whereby a branch had come down on op of the vehicle potentially also affecting power lines. Crews removed the tree from the vehicle and made telephone cable safe.
