Incident Summary – Night Shift 24th May

Toc: 1803 hours – Scarborough Crews attended a fire in a microwave in the Pindar Road area in Eastfield.

Toc: 1834 hours – Scarborough Crews attended a cooker fire in a property in Herdborough Road in Eastfield. The fire caused 50% fire damage to the cooker and 10% smoke damage to the kitchen.  The occupier had removed the cooker prior to Fire Service arrival.

Toc: 1943 hours – Scarborough Crews attended a toaster on fire in a kitchen, Tindall Street, Scarborough.  The fire caused 20% fire damage and 100% smoke damage to the kitchen and 30% smoke damage to the rest of the property.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel, thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan.  Cause of the fire believed to be an electrical fault in the toaster.

Toc: 1944 hours - Crews from Selby attended a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a Volkswagen Golf and a Ford Focus on Hull Road, Hemingbrough. No persons trapped, 1 female in her 40’s taken to Hospital via road ambulance. Crews made scene safe and assisted the Ambulance crew.

Toc:  2132 hours – Crews from York, Huntington and Acomb attended a kettle on fire in a first floor flat on Monkton Road in York. The occupants of the flat a female and a newborn baby were alerted to the fire by the smoke alarms.  The fire caused 20% fire and 50% smoke damage to the kitchen and 10% smoke damage to the rest of the floor. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels, a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the fire.
