Incident Summary Night Shift 25th June 2016

False Alarm– High Street, Tadcaster

Time: 1714

Crews from Tadcaster  were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to weather conditions affecting electrics.

RTC Scene Safety – A1041 Carlton

Time: 1741

Crews from Selby and a West Yorkshire Snaith engine attended an RTC where a digger had collided with a double decker bus. Crews found that the digger had only caused damage to the side of the bus, there were no persons trapped. Crews carried out scene safety.

Roof Fire – Westfield Green, Tockwith

Time: 1750

Crews from Acomb, York, Wetherby and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Huntington responded to calls reporting a roof fire on Westfield Green. They found that the roof was well alight and extinguished using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets. Crews exposed hotspots in the roof, removing roof and slate tiles. Fire investigation is in process and a revisit will take place today.

False Alarm – Danebury Drive, York

Time: 1846

Crews from Malton responded to a report of smoke in the area. They found that this was a false alarm due to controlled burning.

False Alarm – Stonegate, York

Time: 2012

A crew from York responded to a call where there was a report of an electrical fire in the shop front of a 3 storey building. They found that bthis was a false alarm due to a discarded cigarette down pavement light.

False Alarm – Rishworth Grove, York

Time: 2018

A crew from York attended an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Rescue – Swinerton Avenue, York

Time: 2107

Crew from York attended a report of a child locked in a bedroom. They released them using small tools.

Recycling Bin Fire – Dukes Court, Boroughbridge Road, York

Time: 0002

Crew from Acomb attended reports of a fire in a bin. They found that there was a fire to a purpose built recycling bin / bike shed. The building contained push bikes and recycling bags. Crews used 1 hose reel. The cause is believed to be deliberate and the incident has been left open for a revisit.
