Round up of incidents for Night Shift Friday 1st April

False Alarm – Stakesby Road, Whitby

Time of call: 2122 hours

A crew from Whitby responded to an automatic fire alarm from a residential property. They found that this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system

Rescue – Beaconsfield Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 2209 hours

Crews from Scarborough attended reports of a female resident of a residential care facility trapped in a room. Crews allowed staff to gain entry and release female uninjured.

Fire – Rawcliff Road, Pickering

Time of call: 2327 hours

Crews from Pickering attended a report of smoke from a pan which had burnt dry. Upon arriving crews found that the occupier had removed the pan from the property and ventilated. Crews carried out an inspection and checked smoke detectors.

Car Fire – Clay Bank, Stokesley

Time of call: 2339

Crews from Stokesley attended a car fire at Clay Bank. They found the car was 100% destroyed. Cause believed deliberate at this time.

Lorry Fire – A1 N near junction 48

Time of call: 0412

Crews from Boroughbridge, Harrogate and Knaresborough attended reports of a lorry on fire between junction 47 and 48 on the A1 northbound. Crews found that this was caused by locked brakes and had caused 20% fire damage to vehicle.

False Alarm – Bismarck Street, York

Time of call: 0657

Crews from Acomb and York attended reports of smoke inside a residential property. Upon arriving they found this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
