Incident Summary Night Shift 7th October

7th October 2016

Stockwell Road, Knaresborough

Time: 1932

A crew from Knaresborough responded to a automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

Skipton Road, Harrpgate

Time: 1940

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a chimney fire. They found that this was due to an accumulation of soot and extinguished using water and hand tools.

 

Back Bridge Street, Skipton

Time: 2233

A Skipton crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to the accidental activation of a break glass point.

 

Oxford Street, Scarborough

Time: 2242

Scarborough crews responded to a report of a fire involving a tea towel where the occupant had thrown the tea towel out of a window. They found that the tea towel had landed on a lean to roof. Crews removed the towel and used a thermal imaging camera to inspect.

 

Ousegate, Selby

Time:2338

A Selby crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a fa;se alarm due to smoking materials.

 

Hospital Road, Scorton

Time: 0425

Crews from Colburn, Richmond and Northallerton together with the aerial ladder platform from Darlington (and a supporting appliance) were mobilised to a report of a person trapped inside a lift which was on fire in a building containing approx. 24 other people. Richmond crew arrived first and found that the person who had been trapped inside the lift had been released prior to their arrival and there was no fire, but a slight smell of burning which they investigated using a thermal imaging camera and small tools. Richmond crew dealt with this and the other crews were returned to their stations.
