Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 25th May

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Lift rescue – Shipton Road, Skelton

Time of call: 1730 hours

A crew from Acomb has rescued 1 male from a stalled lift car in a commercial property. Lift keys were used and the male was unharmed.

 

Ring removal – Fire Station, Filey

Time of call: 1758 hours

Filey crew have removed a ring which was stuck on a females finger, after she called at the Fire Station. A ring cutter was used.

 

Dishwasher fire – Hailstone Drive, Northallerton

Time of call: 1909 hours

2 crews from Northallerton have dealt with a dishwasher on fire in a domestic property. Fire damage was caused to the appliance and smoke damage caused to the property. Occupier had removed machine to the open. Fire crew ventilated property and used a thermal imaging camera to carry out an inspection.

 

False alarm – Long Close Lane, York

Time of call: 1923 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Brandsby

Time of call: 2212 hours

A crew from Easingwold has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

Assist Ambulance – off Main Street, Seamer

Time of call: 2229 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to assist an Ambulance crew transfer a male casualty on a stretcher down a flight of stairs. Manpower used.

 

False alarm – Coney Street, York

Time of call: 2346 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Stockwell Lane, Knaresborough

Time of call: 0006 hours

A crew rom Knaresborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

Property fire – off Keighley Road, Skipton

Time of call: 0106 hours

2 crews from Skipton have been called to deal with a fire on the balcony of a first floor flat. Slight fire damage was caused to the wooden floor of the balcony. Crews have used a 9m ladder and a hosereel to extinguish. The cause is believed to be a discarded cigarette smouldering in a plant pot of dried out compost.

 

False alarm – Milby

Time of call: 0123 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault.

 

False alarm – St Nicholas Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 0129 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cosmetic smoke.

 

Water Leak – High Market Place, Kirkbymoorside

Time of call: 0205 hours

A crew from Kirkbymoorside has dealt with a water leak in a domestic property. This involved a kitchen tap coming separated from the worktop causing water to jet out and hit the ceiling. Crew isolated water and electrics and gave advice to occupant. Manpower only used.

 

Lift rescue – St Martins Avenue, Scarborough

Time of call: 0534 hours

A crew from Scarborough has rescued 1 male and 1 female from the stalled lift car in a residential property. Lift keys were used and the occupants were released unharmed.
