Lift rescue – Colburn Lane, Colburn

Time of call: 1723 hours

A crew from Richmond has rescued a female from a lift in a commercial property after it stopped between floors.

 

False alarm – Seafire Close, York

Time of call: 1849 hours

A crew from Huntington has investigated reports of smoke near Clifton Moor. This was controlled burning under supervision. Advice was given.

 

Van fire – Field View, Norton

Time of call: 1919 hours

A crew from Malton has dealt with a Ford Transit van on fire which has caused 50% fire damage to the vehicle. The crew used2 hosereels, 2 breathing apparatus and various hand tools. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.

 

False alarm – St Thomas Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1938 hours

2 crews from Scarborough have been called to reports of smoke coming from a block of flats. This was a false alarm due to smoke from a coal fire.

 

False alarm – Willance Grove, Richmond

Time of call: 2241 hours

A crew from Richmond has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cigarette smoke activating the detector.

 

False alarm – Kearsley Road, Ripon

2 crews from Ripon have investigated reports of smoke coming from a socket in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a water boiler. Advice given.

A crew from Tadcaster has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

A crew from Stokesley has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

 

Bin fire – Jennyfield Drive, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a fire involving a plastic rock salt bin. The bin was totally destroyed. The crew used 1 hosereel and the cause is believed to be deliberate.
