Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 7th September

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – A1 southbound between Gatherley & Catterick

Time of call: 1740 hours

Richmond and Darlington crews have been called to reports of a lorry on fire. This was a false alarm due to paint heating equipment on a white line lorry safely venting off.

Road traffic collision – Haggs Road, Follifoot

Time of call: 1811 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have been called to a road traffic collision involving 2 cars. Police in attendance on our arrival. Fire service not required. Incident left in hands of Police.

Bin fire - Stonefall Avenue, Harrogate

Time of call: 0037 hours

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a small bin fire. Extinguished by residents prior to our arrival. Cause believed to be a dropped light.

False alarm – Harrogate Road, Ripon

Time of call: 0134 hours

A crew rom Ripon has responded to a smoke alarm in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a technical fault on the system.

Effect entry – Cambridge Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 0244 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to a commercial property after a male locked himself in the toilet. Crew gained access using small tools and found intoxicated male who has fallen asleep. Male left in care of Police.

Water leak – Skeldergate, York

Time of call: 0310 hours

A crew from York has attended a residential property where a ground floor residence had water leaking through the ceiling from the property above. Crew isolated electricity supply using hand tools. Forced entry made to property above and water supply isolated until broken tap can be repaired. Police also attended this incident.

False alarm – Heslington Road

Time of call: 0424 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

Road traffic collision – Wetherby Road, Rufforth

Time of call: 0439 hours

2 crews from Acomb have dealt with a road traffic collision involving a Honda Civic which is believed to have collided with a gate post and came to rest in a ditch. 1 male in the car was thrown from the vehicle and landed in ditch. Crew assisted paramedics with casualty handling, and provided lighting and scene safety. Male (mid 40’s) taken to hospital with non life threatening pelvic injuries. Crew used lighting and hand tools.

Road traffic collision – Boroughbridge Road, Acomb

Time of call: 0541 hours

Whilst returning from a previous incident, Acomb crews discovered a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist. Crew administered first aid until arrival of paramedics. Incident left in hands of Police.
