Round up of incidents –   Night Shift Saturday 14th May

Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough

Fire crew from Scarborough attended reports of a hedge on fire. When crews arrived they discovered a small fire involving an abandoned portable BBQ that was left in hedge. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel. Full inspection of area carried out, no further action required.

 Nr. The Bridge, Aiskew, Bedale  

Fire crews from Bedale were mobilised to reports of a fire near the beck in Bedale. When crews arrived at the location they discovered the fire was actually controlled burning under supervision. Crews gave advice to person present, no further action required.

 Kings Road, junc with Coppice Drive, Harrogate.

Crews from Harrogate were mobilised to reports of a fuel spillage following a road traffic collision. Crews made the scene safe and dealt with fuel spillage. No further action was necessary. Incident left in hands of police.

Askham Bar, Tadcaster Road, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire in the open at Askham Bar. When crews arrived they discovered a small fire in the hedge. The fire was extinguished by using 1 hose reel. The fire is thought to have been started deliberately

Melrosegate, York

Fire crews from York and Acomb attended reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision with persons trapped. When crews arrived, they confirmed there was one male trapped. Crews worked alongside paramedics to release the casualty, who was then taken into paramedics care. Manpower only was required to release the trapped casualty. He required precautionary check up only.

 Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton

Fire crews from Acomb attended commercial premises on Millfield Lane due to reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding. The alarm was confirmed to be a false alarm following a thorough inspection at the site.
