Fire in woods – A170 near Kilburn

Time of call: 1649 hours

A crew from Thirsk has been called to a campfire left unattended in woodland. Buckets of water were used to extinguish it.

Fire in woods – Raincliffe Woods, Scarborough

Time of call: 1901 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to reports of a fire in woodland. This was a campfire under supervision but it has been extinguished at the request of a Woodland Trust employee. Advice was given to the campers. Our crew used a wild fire knapsack.

False alarm – Grange Lane, Acomb

Time of call: 1914 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to reports of a rubbish fire near to woodland. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning. Advice was given to the land owner.

False alarm – Otley Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1937 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector head.

Fire in woods – Grange Lane, Acomb

Time of call: 1939 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to reports of a fire in woodland. This involved a waste sofa. The cause was deliberate and the crew used a wild fire knapsack.

Small fire – Foresters Walk, York

Time of call: 1958 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to a fire involving an area of woodland approximately 4m by 4m. The cause is deliberate and they used 1 hosereel and shovels to extinguish the fire.

Fence fire – Main Street, Grassington

Time of call: 2031 hours

A crew from Grassington had dealt with a fence on fire at the rear of a commercial property. This was caused by a poorly extinguished cigarette which set fire to the butt bin which then spread to the fence. The fire was extinguished by a member of the public with a hosepipe.

False alarm – Coney Street, York

Time of call: 2136 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

False alarm – Fleet Lane, Tockwith

Time of call: 0018 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated  reports of smoke in the area. A full search was carried out but no incident located.

False alarm – Murchison Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 0302 hours

2 crews from Scarborough have been called to a smell of burning inside a residential property. This was a false alarm. No fire located. Thermal imaging camera used for investigation only.

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector.
