Chimney fire – Snape

Time of call: 1728 hours

A crew from Masham has dealt with a chimney fire in a residential property.  The cause is believed to be accumulation of soot and the crew used 10.5m ladder, roof ladder, 1 hosereel, thermal imaging camera and hearth kit to extinguish.

 

Road traffic collision

Time of call: 1806 hours

2 crews from Malton have been called to a single vehicle road traffic collision involving an overturned Vauxhall Astra which had left the road an overturned, coming to rest against a tree. 1 female (50’s) was trapped in the vehicle. Crews stabilised the vehicle and created a clear path for her the exit the vehicle. Crews used electric winch, strops, salvage sheets, reciprocating saw and small tools.

 

Ring removal – Kent Street, York

Time of call: 1838 hours

The crew at York have removed a tight ring from the finger of a male who called in at the fire station. They used soap and water.

 

False alarm – Heslington Road, York

Time of call: 1901 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – Shambles, York

Time of call: 1949 hours

Crews from York and Acomb have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

Rubbish fire – Heworth Green, York

Time of call: 2019 hours

A crew from York has been called to a rubbish fire on a cycle path. The cause was deliberate by youths. The fire was out on our arrival.

 

False alarm – Scalby Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2035 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector head.

 

False alarm – Crag Lane, Harrogate

Time of call: 0353 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault on the system.

 

False alarm - Clifton Park Avenue, York

Time of call: 0546 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to vaping inside the property.
