Incident Summary - Night Shift Monday 29th October

30th October 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Nought Bank Road, Bewerley  - Time of call 19:22

Fire crews from Harrogate attended a road traffic collision involving a camper van that had collided with a stone wall and then overturned on an embankment. No people were trapped or injured. Crews assisted with fuel leak and provided lighting for Paramedics and Police.

 

Moor Monkton - Time of call 19:24

Fire crews from Acomb and York responded to reports of smoke inside property, crews confirmed this was a chimney fire caused by a birds nest blocking the flue. Crews extinguished fire using chimney rods and a hose reel.

 

Canal View, Selby - Time of call 21:09

Selby fire crews assisted a male that had fallen down a ditch. Crews pulled him free. Male was checked by paramedics as a precaution.

 

A6136, Richmond - Time of call 23:25

Fire crews from Colburn and Richmond attended a sofa on fire by the side of the road, which had spread to a fence and some trees. The cause of the fire was believed to be deliberate. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

 

Ramshill Road, Scarborough - Time of call 00:48

Fire crews from Scarborough responded to a fire in a three storey domestic property. On arrival crews confirmed fire was out and had started in a toaster. No equipment was required.

 

A1 Northbound Junc 47 to 48 – Allerton Park  -  Time of call 02:15

Fire crews from Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to a road traffic collision involving a Mercedes van and a Ford van. No persons trapped. Driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries only. Driver of the Mercedes fled the scene. Fire crews assisted Police with making vehicles safe and search of immediate area. Hand tools and thermal imaging camera used.

 

A1 Northbound Junc 47 to 48 – Allerton Park  -  Time of call 02:42

Crews from Ripon, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge & Harrogate have responded to a road traffic collision involving 2 articulated lorries. 1 male driver was not trapped, received precautionary check up by paramedics on scene. Other male driver was ejected from the vehicle and has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. Crews administered first aid until arrival of an ambulance and provided scene lighting for Police.
