Incident Summary Night Shift Monday 3rd September 2018

4th September 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

We also attended a number of fire alarm activations during the shift which turned out to be a false alarms.

Road traffic collision – Tadcaster Road, York

Time of call: 17:57

Appliances from York and Acomb attended this incident and extricated the driver of one of the vehicles who was then taken to hospital for treatment, crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, stabilisation blocks, sharps protection and small tools.

Fire in microwave – Sutton-in-Craven, Keighley

Time of call: 17:59

Appliances from Skipton attended this incident which involved a ready meal on fire inside a microwave, the fire was out on arrival but caused damage to the food and the microwave.

Fire in underground car park – The Groves, York

Time of call: 21:16

An appliance from Acomb attended this incident and stamped out a small rubbish fire in an underground carpark using a firefighter boot.

Cooker fire – The Groves, York

Time of call: 21:29

An appliance from Acomb attended this incident which was a cooker fire that was out on arrival, the fire had caused fire damage to the cooker and smoke logging to the flat and some of the corridor.  Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to assist with clearing the smoke and looked after the occupant until the ambulance arrived on scene to treat her for smoke inhalation.

Automatic Fire Alarm - Dalton Old Airfield Industrial Estate, Dalton

Time of call: 00.12

Thirsk crew attended an automatic fire alarm at a industrial premises, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

Automatic Fire Alarm - Cammock Lane, Settle 

Time of call: 00.48

Settle crew attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential premises, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Fire in 3 storey building – Valley Drive, Harrogate

Time of call: 02:19

Appliances from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended this fire which turned out to be a pair of oven gloves that had been left on top of a cooker hob, the fire was out on arrival and caused some minor smoke logging only.
