False alarm – Southolme Walk, Boroughbridge

Time of call: 1736 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Moxon Way, Sherburn in Elmet

Time of call: 1756 hours

A crew from Tadcaster has been called to a minor road traffic collision involving a truck which had collided with a telegraph pole leaving it in an unsafe position. No persons were trapped or injured. There was no fire. Crew carried out an inspection only and the incident has been reported to BT Open Reach.

Kitchen fire – Holly Close, Gatenby

Time of call: 1806 hours

Crews from Northallerton and Bedale have been called to a kitchen fire in a domestic property which involved nail varnish remover left near a hot hob. The incident resulted in fire damage to the nail varnish remover and a chopping board. A smoke detector was fitted in the property but did not activate as smoke did not reach it. The fire was extinguished by the occupants and the fire crew used a thermal imaging camera for inspection only. The cause is believed to be careless use.

False alarm – Falconers Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Fire in the open – Moor Lane Trading Estate, Sherburn in Elmet

Time of call: 2157 hours

A crew from Tadcaster has been called to a fire in the open at a commercial property. Staff on site were having a controlled burn of some waste insulation and panelling in 2 large cast iron cauldrons but were producing excessive smoke. The water bowser from Tadcaster also attended and crews used 2 hosereels to extinguish the fire. Advice was given regarding fumes from the burning of some of the items.

A crew from Northallerton has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

False alarm – St Nicholas Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 0015 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a fault alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

False alarm – Racecourse Lane, Northallerton

Time of call: 0119 hours

A crew from Northallerton has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause as the crew could not gain access.
