Please see below a round up of incidents from Saturday 16th June Night Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Whitby: time 17.52

Whitby appliance attended a gas leak within a residential property. Crews isolated the gas supply and ventilated the property.

Staxton, Scarborough: time 18.42

Crews from both Scarborough and Filey dealt with a 2 vehicle road traffic collision at Staxton. One female driver of a Peugeot car was trapped in her vehicle. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to perform a door removal and transferred casualty onto a stretcher. The casualty was then taken to hospital via road ambulance with non life threatening injuries.

Sutton-in-Craven, Keighley: time 20.17

2 x appliances from Skipton, a 4x4 appliance from Grassington and an Argocat vehicle were sent to 400m of grass land that was well alight. Crews used hose reel jets, high pressure lances and breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.

Eastfield, Scarborough: time 20.27

Scarborough crew were mobilised to reports of a scooter that had caught fire. On arrival they found a motorised scooter well alight and it is thought to have been caused deliberately. Crews used backpack sprayers to extinguish the fire.

During the night shift we also attended a number of automatic fire alarms across the county in Knaresborough, Hawes, York & Scarborough. These all turned out to be false alarms.
