Road traffic collision – A19, Easingwold

Time of call: 1709 hours

A crew from Easingwold has attended a road traffic collision involving a female cyclist who had been blown off her bike in high winds. Fire service administered first aid until arrival of ambulance crew and assisted in scene safety.

False alarm – Heslington Road, York

Time of call: 1948 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

Chimney fire – Glaisdale, Whitby

Time of call: 2136 hours

Crews from Danby, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay have tackled a chimney fire in a residential property. The cause was a build up of tar from burning logs and crews have used a roof ladder, a 10.5m ladder, lighting, thermal imaging camera and a hosereel.

Road traffic collision – The Village, Haxby

Time of call: 2206 hours

Crews from Huntington and Acomb have been called to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped. 1 male was injured. Fire crews carried out scene safety and left incident with police and ambulance. 

Car fire – Cliff Road, Staithes

Time of call: 0059 hours

Crews from Whitby and Loftus have been called to a car fire which has resulted in severe fire damage to a vehicle. The cause was deliberate and the crew used 1 hosereel.

False alarm – Greendale Court, Bedale

Time of call: 0300 hours

A crew from Bedale has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector.

False alarm – Great Smeaton, Northallerton

Time of call: 0521 hours

A crew from Northallerton have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault in the detection system.
