Incident Summary Night Shift Saturday 22nd April 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.






Vehicle collided with building – North Road, Stokesley


Time of call: 17:33


Appliances from Stokesley, Northallerton, Coulby Newham and Ripon attended this incident and made the area safe after a van collided with a residential property.  Crews isolated the utilities to the property and assisted with evacuation.




Treehouse fire – Fordlands Road, York


Time of call: 18:22


An appliance from York attended and extinguished a tree house that was well alight using a hose reel jet.




Smoke in kitchen – Oakdale Avenue, Harrogate


Time of call: 19:22


Appliances from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended this incident, the fire was confined to some cooking only but the crews had to force entry and escorted one occupant to safety.  Crew used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property due to some minor smoke logging.




Bin fire – Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough


Time of call: 19:28


An appliance from Scarborough attended this incident and extinguished a bin that was well alight using a hose reel jet.




Cat stuck under shed – Branch Road, Skipton


Time of call: 20:32


An appliance from Skipton attended this incident and used edraulic spreaders and chocks to safely rescue a cat which was stuck under a garden shed.




Smoke in kitchen – Knaresborough Road, Harrogate


Time of call: 21:26


Appliances from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended this incident which turned out to be just cooking fumes, no equipment was used by the fire crews.




Outhouse fire – Amiens Crescent, Catterick Garrison


Time of call: 23:23


An appliance from Richmond attended this incident and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet, the fire caused damage to the outhouse involved and to a nearby residential property.




Vehicle Fire – A1 northbound at Junction 49


Time of call: 05:42


Appliances from Boroughbridge, Thirsk and Ripon attended this incident and extinguished the vehicle fire using 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and small tools.
