Incident Summary – Night Shift Saturday 28th April

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Chimney fire – Prospect Drive, Tadcaster

Time of call: 1504 hours

A crew from Tadcaster has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. Crew used a hosereel, chimney rods, thermal imaging camera and small tools. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot.

Small fire – Woodlea Avenue, York     

Time of call: 2126 hours                  

A crew from Acomb had dealt with a tree stump on fire in a public park. One tree stump was involved and crew used a knapsack sprayer to extinguish. The cause is believed to be deliberate by youths.

False alarm – Quarry Bank, Scarborough

Time of call: 2250 hours

A crew from Scarborough has investigated reports of fire in the open. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

False alarm – The Crescent, Selby

Time of call: 0539 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.
