Incident Summary – Night Shift Saturday 3rd June

 

 False alarm – Youngs Yard, Richmond

Time of call: 1715 hours

A crew from Richmond have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – Plews Way, Leeming Bar

Time of call: 1802 hours

A crew from Bedale has responded to a smoke alarm activation in an industrial property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty alarm panel.

 

Rubbish Fire – Copt Hewick Common

Time of call: 1906 hours

2 crews from Ripon have dealt with a fire in the open approx. 10m by 10m consisting of fly tipped household waste. The cause was deliberate and the crews used 1 hose reel jet.

 

Water leak – Burniston Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2028 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to flooding inside a commercial property. Flooding was due to blocked drains. Advice given to staff to arrange for a contractor to deal with drains. No action taken by fire crew.

 

Small fire – St Leonards Crescent, Scarborough

Time of call: 2116 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to a small bonfire in the rear garden of a domestic property. They used 1 hose reel to extinguish it.

 

Hedge fire – Oxton Drive, Tadcaster      

Time of call: 2124 hours

A crew from Tadcaster has dealt with a conifer bush and section of fence on fire in the garden of a domestic property. The cause was accidental and crew used 1 hose reel jet.

 

False alarm – Gargrave Road, Skipton

Time of call: 2157 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Askham Lane, York

Time of call: 2201 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated reports of a fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

 

False alarm – Cornlands Road, York

Time of call: 2224 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated reports of smoke in the area. This was a false alarm due to smoke from the previous incident of controlled burning.

 

Chemical incident – Canal View, Selby

Time of call: 2226 hours

Fire crews from Selby and York and an Incident Support Unit from Tadcaster have been called to industrial premises after a male member of staff was overcome by chemical fumes. Our crews assisted Paramedics on scene and carried out wet decontamination to the casualty and dry decontamination to 4 further members of staff. It is believed the cause was due to insufficient personal protection equipment being used rather than an actual chemical leak.

 

False alarm – Knox Way, Harrogate

Time of call: 2230 hours

A crew from Harrogate has investigated reports of a fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning.

 

Road traffic collision – A170, Keldholme

Time of call: 2333 hours

Crews from Kirkbymoorside, Pickering and Malton have been called to a road traffic collision after a Vauxhall Corsa collided with a large goods vehicle. The male driver of the Corsa was out of the vehicle on our arrival. He received treatment from Paramedics for minor injuries. Fire crews carried out a search of the vicinity using a thermal imaging camera and lighting. Drizzit pads were used to absorb a fuel spillage.

 

False alarm – Wigginton Road, York

Time of call: 2340 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – High Street, Brompton by Sawdon

Time of call: 0036 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Thorpe Green Lane, Thorpe Underwood

Time of call: 0037 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

Car fire – Metcalfe Lane, Osbaldwick

Time of call: 0121 hours

A crew from York has dealt with a car fire. Severe fire, heat and smoke damage was caused to the vehicle. The cause is believed to be deliberate and the crew used 1 hose reel to extinguish.

 

False alarm  - Haxby Road, York

Time of call: 0453 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation at industrial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.
